Afrispoor is a proudly South African company built around a simple belief: adventure should never be limited by where the road ends. Founded by David Coombes, Afrispoor grew from his own experiences in the African bush and his desire to create a better, more dependable way to explore the outdoors.
What began as a personal search for a more reliable off-road camping experience developed into a respected South African brand known for its commitment to quality, craftsmanship and purposeful design. Based in Durban, Afrispoor remains closely connected to its South African roots, with every caravan handcrafted locally by a dedicated team that understands the demands of African travel.
With more than 27 years of design and manufacturing experience, Afrispoor has built its reputation through continuous development, practical knowledge and listening to the people who use its products. The company believes that real-world experience matters, and that the best designs come from understanding how people actually travel, explore and experience the outdoors.
Afrispoor deliberately chooses quality over mass production. By keeping production limited, the company is able to maintain close attention to detail and ensure that every build receives the care and craftsmanship expected from a premium South African manufacturer.
At the heart of Afrispoor is a passion for freedom, adventure and exploration. The company is proudly South African, but its ambitions extend far beyond South Africa, with Afrispoor caravans travelling with adventurers across borders and into some of Africa’s most challenging and beautiful environments.
Afrispoor is more than a manufacturer. It is a team of people who understand the desire to escape the ordinary, discover new places and experience the freedom of the open road. Every Afrispoor build reflects that philosophy – proudly South African, carefully crafted and created for those who choose to go further.
At Afrispoor, we offer a complete range of premium off-road caravans designed for travellers who want to explore further, travel comfortably and take on challenging African terrain with confidence.
Our range includes the Wildcat, Caracal, Savannah, Cheetah and Serval, with different layouts and configurations to suit couples, families and different styles of adventure travel. Depending on the model, options include fixed or slide-out beds, practical kitchens, spacious storage, pop-up roofs, shower facilities and comfortable living areas.
We also offer customisation options, allowing owners to adapt their caravan to their individual travel requirements. From additional storage and electrical upgrades to kitchen enhancements, water systems and off-grid improvements, our team can help create a setup suited to the way you travel.
Our relationship with customers does not end when the caravan leaves our workshop. Afrispoor provides servicing, maintenance, repairs, upgrades and modifications, helping owners keep their caravans reliable and adventure-ready for years to come. Our team can assist with everything from routine maintenance to more specialised off-road modifications.
Whether you are looking for a compact two-sleeper, a family adventure caravan, a fully equipped off-road camper or a customised setup, Afrispoor offers solutions built around quality, practicality, comfort and the freedom to explore.
